has over 12 years of experience in simulation of environmental processes in urban and natural environments, through digital research, geospatial algorithms and software development. These research efforts have taken place at the university level, and in the service of Federal Agencies, as well as for private firms in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. He is currently part of a USDA, EPA, and Dept. of Natural Resources Committee dedicated to designing conservation protocols for the main Watersheds in PR, including La Plata and Carraízo. He has served as speaker at a variety of venues and conferences internationally, including the World Design Summit, the Paris Design Summit, the Venice Biennale, Oxford University, University of Pennsylvania, and University of East London, among others. Mieses has also been professor at the Mississippi State University School of Architecture, University of Puerto Rico and the Pontifical Catholic University of PR - School of Architecture. Formerly, he has developed products for AT&T, Verizon Wireless, GrassLark, and the Tourism Company of Puerto Rico.
is a multidisciplinary Designer with over 12 years of experience. His education in architecture and product design informed him and provided him with tools to tackle diverse and complex concepts. Excia co-founded PostData.Design and then founded aexcia|Studio; that energized the design community in his hometown of Puerto Rico. He was awarded & mentioned in various AIA local chapter and CEMEX international competitions. Responsibilities piled on, nonetheless, as a member of the Architecture and Product Design faculties in the top design institutions on the island, he Co-Coordinated Entrepreneurial Initiative in Design and Digital Fabrication. His multidisciplinary design skills applying creative strategized solutions; as well as his passion for the intricacies of storytelling, keeps him busy visualizing and coordinating projects as a Senior Exhibit Designer part of the Space Haus staff. Alejandro Excia has under his belt successfully lead projects for companies like The Microsoft Stores, AT&T, Verizon, Apple, National Aquarium of New Zealand, Acuario de Mazatlán México, Kansas City Zoo Aquarium.
holds a Bachelor in Environmental Design from the University of Puerto Rico and a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Having worked in Belo Horizonte, Tokyo, Basel, and New York she has developed a unique understanding of the built environment, real estate and marketing practices. Her work was published in the GSD platform, in Japan and Brazil. In Basel, she worked at Herzog & de Meuron joining the competition to design Berlin’s Museum of the 20th Century, which won the first prize. Currently she’s an Associate Professor in the Department of Architecture at the Ana G. Mendez University. Her current work focuses on the potential architecture that can exist in Puerto Rico, more specifically on the countryside.
